A note from Dr. Dean Nelson:
In my 30 years in medicine, I’ve grown increasingly disillusioned with the business model of medicine. Physicians are often forced by hospitals and clinics to be production-based. This is the prevalent model that requires us to see many patients in a short order of time, as quickly as possible. In fact, I’ve been disallowed by practice managers to build in more time for visits with complicated patients who required more time and attention. Physicians are not paid to take the time required to render effective care. Current medical care seems to be mostly about ‘sick care’ and treating symptoms instead of getting at root causes. We individually are not one-size-fits-all. It is possible for you to get personalized and precise care.
Additionally, the government requirement of Electronic Medical Records in mainstream medicine forces doctors to spend much of our time in patient face-to-face encounters with our attention to a computer screen. The sheer volume necessitates that most doctors accomplish this during the visit to cut down on the after-hour documentation demands. I’ve felt bad for the patient during these encounters, as doctors are under a lot of pressure to meet so-called “quality measures” and other metrics for billers/chart reviewers. I’ve often quipped that this has turned physicians into high-paid data entry clerks.
The speed at which physicians are required to see most patients has, in my opinion, watered down care, or caused us to become less thorough than we would prefer. It has become more about volume and productivity. Care suffers. Physicians are also increasingly being replaced by mid-level providers, i.e., Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners. I mean no disrespect. They, like most of us, must resort to superficial visits that the allotted time, or their training level, supports.
To complicate matters more, insurance companies have for years been reducing physician reimbursement while our costs continue to rise. Doctors’ practices must hire extra staff to do the complicated billing and handle the frequent, unnecessary payment denials. Pre-authorizations, even if granted, can be very tedious and time-consuming. This is a problem, not just with private insurance, but also with government or state payor sources.
Just prior to another military deployment to Poland, I was blessed to listen to one of the world’s leading experts in Health and Wellness who fuses modern medicine with integrative therapies. He is an expert at finding patient root cause problems when other medical practices do not. Dr. Purser is a medical lecturer all over the world and the author of multiple best sellers. After my return from Poland, I had the priceless opportunity to train with him in functional and lifestyle medicine. He is world renowned, and achieves an approximate 98% success rate.
When I first heard Dr. Purser address an audience of physicians, I was prompted to pivot from my 3 decades in mainstream medical care models to this more holistic, natural and effective approach to medicine. It gets to root causes at the molecular, microcellular, biochemical, and genetic levels. Profound biotechnology is available to help patients really get to the bottom of why they have felt so bad, often for years.
Patients are tired of being told by their Primary Care Provider (PCP) that there is “nothing wrong”, or that their “labs are normal”. Patients know their bodies the best. They know when they do not feel well, or when something is just not right. One of the worst things that a doctor or provider can tell their patients is that it “must be all in their head.”

In my opinion, we have gotten too far away from the integrated effectiveness of natural medicine, complementary medicine, alternative medicine, and nutrition-based treatment options. We can tap into treatments that some cultures, like Chinese, have known for several millennia.
We partner with and may recommend products or supplements from industry leaders that are grounded in scientific evidence, scientific data, clinical use, and empirical results.
We aim to provide solutions validated by third-party testing to ensure potency and purity. After all, we all want the reassurance that we are getting what we are paying for. We, through collaboration with some of the world’s leading experts, cut through the fluff so that we can confidently recommend products. We discuss options and alternatives where possible.
We are here to help you, the patient, to metaphorically steer the rudder of your own ship. We help to provide the necessary information and education. At the end of the day, we are not content if we haven’t helped you. You are at the center of the care that we render.

As the great motivator, speaker, and author, Tony Robbins points out in one of his books, there are new methods to restore the body at the cellular and molecular levels. It is possible to reinvigorate and revive damaged organs and conquer illness. We can now amplify the body’s natural capacity to repair and renew itself. The exponential growth in medical knowledge and technology allows more potential approaches to eliminate suffering, restore our health, and enhance our well-being.
Precision Medicine is personalized, proactive, and forward-looking. It is more about looking for and treating ‘Root Causes’.
We would love the opportunity to speak with you and answer any questions you may have.
